Samidori by Yamamasa Koyamaen is an approachable Uji matcha with a fresh taste, creamy texture and gentle bitterness.
Compared with the sweeter and fuller Yomo no Kaori, Samidori has a fresher, lighter character.
How Does It Taste?
Fresh, Creamy and Balanced
Flavour Profile:
Samidori has fresh green notes, mellow umami and light sweetness, followed by a small amount of astringency. It is less sweet and full-bodied than Yomo no Kaori, giving it a slightly fresher and more direct matcha flavour.
Aroma:
Fresh with a clear green tea aroma.
Finish:
Creamy and clean with mild astringency and light sweetness.
What to Enjoy It With
Japanese Sweets:
Enjoy with mochi, dorayaki or red bean sweets.
Western Sweets:
Pairs well with vanilla, white chocolate, butter cookies and simple cakes.

Brewing Tip
Prepare with 1.5g of matcha and around 70ml of water at approximately 80°C. For use lattes 3-4g of matcha with 40ml of water.
